  About the food I don&apos;t think MSG alone is to blame. Indonesia has lots (A LOTS) of spices, so our food is tend on the spicier and tasteful compared to northern countries, because spices are diverse and abundant.

  Good to see all these Indonesian guys and gals speaking good English and the occasional Bahasa Indonesia thrown into the conversation. &nbsp;I wish I had that privilege when I was touring Kalimantan . &nbsp;Hoping to be able to do that again in the near future 🤞🏿🤞🏿🤞🏿

  For your information, the reason many Chinese Indonesians cannot speak Mandarin is that during the era of former President Suharto, the use of Mandarin was prohibited, and people of Chinese descent were required to change their names to more Western ones. As a result, the younger generation often does not have traditional Chinese names and instead uses Western-style names.
