  There&apos;s one phrase in team chat that just kill any joy in playing a tank. &quot;Tank diff&quot;. It doesn&apos;t matter if you&apos;re the better tank or not. If it&apos;s in Quick play or Competitive. Just the fact that the spotlight is on you (and the other tank) and if anyone doesn&apos;t get the space they want in a match. Then aim it like a chat-format toxic bullet for you to see.

  In my opinion tank is the anchor of the team and with that much responsibility, it can be very overwhelming for a lot of people which is why they don’t play the role

  the thing about tank is that its very unique between each hero, learning 2 tanks is way more difficult than learning 2 dps or supports

  I love playing tank but the main issue I have with tank is the enemy team makes my life genuinely miserable when the matchups arent in my favour. <br>As a tank I do believe I should be able to punish supports being out positioned but alot of the time supports have a get out of jail free card tied to an ability, Mizuki, Kiriko, Zen, &nbsp;(zen can one shot winston no headshots on charge) many other supports jsut do so much dmg to tank that it becomes not worth playing dive picks and just instead play slow push tanks like rein or JQ

  i think what drives people away from the tank role is how much responsibility is inherent in it. a dps or even support can fuck up (within reason) and the team can generally brush it off, but most tank misplays can cost you entire teamfights. youre the one expected to track ultimates, push/dive key enemy players, peel for the backline, and duel the enemy tank while keeping perfect positioning for the rest of your team. every move is scrutinized by the enemy team and your own because youre the biggest target on the field. when you lose its YOUR fault specifically, when you win its thanks to everyone else.<br><br>even on a good day it only takes a few tank games to exhaust you, god forbidding you make a misplay or two. new players dont want to pick up such a stressful role, so the remaining 7 tank players in the queue stay getting put in saw traps.

  I just love how DPS players think they are immune to criticism. I’m sorry, but if DPS aren’t killing anything it’s not the Tank’s fault

  Played a game. I was support.<br><br>My entire team went on dps. Not a single person changed to tank.

  Since they’re the one everyone one your team pays attention to they’re the most scrutinised.<br><br>Your backline doing something stupid will most likely fall under the radar but not being perfect as a tank will lead to everyone being on your ass about every little mistake.

  They need to pump out tank characters constantly. With the amount of DPS and Supps there&apos;s a character for everyone and every aesthetic, story, design, gameplay that they like but there&apos;s too little tanks and far too little archetypes, looks and gameplay. We need so many tanks that everyone even the ones that only play support or dps can find a tank that they really really like and have fun playing to flex. There&apos;s just too little choice

  Deadlock&apos;s queueing system is worth looking into. You just select which heroes you like playing and the game sorts out the draft for you.

  Playing as a tank in 6v6 in OW2 is actually fun in my opinion. We’ve never had this diverse of a tank pool to choose from in OW1. The balancing of 6v6 should be prioritized, but aside from that it’s great. I’ve never played more tank than this year in OW2 6v6 ranked.<br><br>Edit:<br>I’ll add that I run into a problem in ranked as a solo queue flex player, so occasionally my teammates either unknowingly or deliberately don’t run optimal, complementary, and/or synergistic compositions to align with the tanks. This issue is probably going to persist until I reach the higher ranks, but gosh darn it’s frustrating sometimes.
