Fun fact, everyone has weird names (not just the English names), because the creator was worried if the names were more realistic, real people who have the same name might get superstitious about seeing it written in the Death Note; and also didn't want kids to be bullied for sharing a name with Kira.
Ironically, after publication, some people have named their kids Light (with the kanji for moon), including a few Light Yagamis

Matsuda being the one to take down Light is deeply poetic, and is easily my favorite moment in the entire show. When he’s first introduced, he’s the goofy rookie cop who openly admits he understands Kira’s motives, even pointing out how crime rates have dropped because of him. And in the end, Matsuda briefly becomes exactly what he once tried to justify. A man willing to kill in the name of justice. He nearly executes Light on the spot, screaming that he deserves to die, until Aizawa and Mogi pull him back. In that one instant, Matsuda mirrors Kira completely, and shows how thin the line between righteous anger and the corruption of your moral judgment can be.

When L is at lights feet, think of it as Jesus at the disciples feet. This show has a FUCK ton of religious parallels

4:53:35 imagine somebody's holding you in their arms as you die and then they SMILE down at you. on top of that, once you DO die, they start screaming bloody murder like they cared about you. nobody could save that person from the paranormal ass beating i would unleash upon them.

The anime doesn't make it clear but Misa removes herself from the world after Light is gone.

I personally like how they ended off light with him crying and running past his younger self. I personally take it as a callback to the scene with L and Light's father in the hospital, where they say that Kira was cursed and that the power to kill is what’s truly evil—AKA Ryuk. As the author said, had he never dropped the notebook, Light would have most likely become a world-class detective on par with L's detective capability. I like to think Light truly recognized how far he had fallen and how he threw away what he could have been. I just find the entire scene to be poetic in a way how Light Yagami was Kira's first Victim.

If Naomi Misora wasn’t so blinded with avenging Raye she would’ve noticed the contradiction in Light telling her that the task force was hand picked by L, the elite of the elite; but then he later tells Naomi that she’s better than everyone on the task force; not to mention that Naomi was aware that Raye was put into a position where he was forced to show his ID. Naomi didn’t even notice that she was also put in a position where she needed to show her ID.
