  I’m not Japanese and I do just about all these things.  I think cleanliness is not a cultural thing it’s a personal choice.

  I do not like microfiber.  Instead I buy all cotton baby diapers and use those for cleaning.  They can be washed in very hot water or bleached if they get really dirty.  When they wear out they can be composted.

  How can you say microfiber is eco-friendly.  It is mainly polyester and when it makes it to the landfill, it doesn’t break down.   Everything eventually makes it to the landfill.  Cotton at least breaks down and is organic

  Typically, I clean everything 3 times. Once to remove the dirt, once again to remove more dirt and once again to actually clean the final surface.

  Steam not required for sparkling bathrooms. DRY the shower (walls, ceiling, floor) after yourself, before you get out of it. "Dust" the floor and toilet with this damp towel.  Throw the towel into the wash after every use. 15 yrs glass tiles are like polished wine glasses with NO "cleaning". Always company ready.  Dust shown in the video is in great lumps. I live beside a gravel truck parking lot and have kittylitter. NEVER EVER has this massive amount of dust happened in my home.   I can't imagine this level unless there is a massive rock quarry or concrete factory right outside the front door. Newspapers are a thing of the past. None available here. Never met anyone who didn't use an old toothbrush for cleaning. Can't live minimalist but I do live clean.

  Maybe three buckets 1: soapy water, 2: clean water, 3: empty bucket to  twist the mop head from the dirty water.

  I use certain tools for certain kinds of cleaning. Clean sponge for dishes only. Dirty sponge for dirty areas. After using a toothbrush or wire brush, it is thoroughly cleaned. Clean towel for drying dishes. Hand towel for hands. Disposble paper towel for something that is really dirty, because I don't want to dirty my good cleaning rags.

  I think I like the idea of using baby diapers. I always get the feeling that micro cloths were pushing the dirt around rather than “scooping” it up.
