  As an RV Technician I can say unless you know how to work on them you will run into trouble.The new ones are built more poorly than ever.

  Bought a used, refurbished cruise America class c rv for $30k. &nbsp;Paid cash and got an inspection and I bought a used lifetime thousand trails adventure membership cash. &nbsp;Been living full time RVing for 14 months and traveled to over 12 states and Canada. &nbsp;Because I researched, bought used class c that fits my needs and understood the expectations and reality of this lifestyle I learned am enjoying this lifestyle. &nbsp;My monthly expenses are 1300. &nbsp;I used my GI bill to get trained as a rv tech and inspector so I can fix most things myself and do my maintenance as well. &nbsp;Buy used, make sure you research the layout so you only buy once and learn DIY and always get an inspection.

  Here in New Zealand I own 4 acres freehold, solar panels, rain water, I live in my wee camper. Absolutely bliss, no mortgage, no power bill.. life is bloody good!

  I ended up homeless for a while about 12 yrs ago, I bought a1976 20 ft travel trailer and lived in it for 9 months in a trailer lot, while I save up, then bought a used 34 ft fifth wheel and lived in it for a yr and a half. &nbsp;I finally got a house. &nbsp;Not a great situation but I lived through it. &nbsp;You have to do what you have to do.

  Good topic. &nbsp;About 13 years ago my wife and I joined the RV club of America, when to the shows, talked to people, and just did homework to decide if we wanted to do the RV thing. We loved traveling to the national parks, hiking, etc. In the end, we passed on that purchase, opting to just drive to our destinations and reserve lodging. I looked at owning an RV as just another expense meter to feed. I&apos;m glad we passed on it.

  I agree with a lot of what you are saying. &nbsp;Problem with people living in vehicles in public areas/parking lots is that one person in 100 that trashes the area. &nbsp;Only takes one to ruin it for everyone.

  People thinks that they are going to save money and travbel, happy camping... without ever doing it before!! &nbsp;My wife and I rented 16 foot pull trailer for 60 days traveling 10k miles.. we live in 4000 sq ft house. it was less tha n100 sqft in that camper.. last day on the road, we looked at each other and said we dont want to go back home.. so We decided to do full time.. get a 45 foot bus with washer and dryer since we did not like going to laundromat. &nbsp; we tested it out and loved it... so everyone should rent one and try it out before going out and buying it because it sounds good.. :)
