  While reading the conviction arc I kept waiting for Mozgus mask to drop. I kept waiting for him to reveal that his faith was fake and only a facade to gain power or as an excuse to torture others. But the true terror comes from realizing that his faith was real. He committed those atrocities because he truly believed he was rightful.

  Most likely his design is inspired by the judge from blood meridian he has a lot of conection designs hairless huge pale and as in blood meridian “represents god”

  I think Mozgus is a true believer, however, his belief ultimately serves his desire. &nbsp;It is clear he has significant sado-masochistic and violent tendencies, these would have outcast him, but he found an organization that valued those traits. &nbsp;My guess is that the church found him at a young age and cultivated those talents while thoroughly indoctrinating him, providing him not only licence to do what he desired, but a strong sense of purpose for his actions. &nbsp;In his view, what he was doing not only made him feel good, it was in direct service to the highest possible authority and ultimately helping his victims. &nbsp;This allowed him to avoid any pitfalls of empathy or sympathy he might have come across, allowing him to engage with his desires guilt free.

  Haven&apos;t watched the vid yet, but it&apos;s crazy that this got recommended to me right after finishing the arc with him in it. The thing I was honestly most surprised about with him is that he genuinely believed in what he was doing and that he wasn&apos;t secretly an apostle. Bro was just that genuinely zealous and insane. I hope Farnese doesn&apos;t end up going down a bad path like Mozgus did. I&apos;m hoping Serpico will keep her in check. Also, Azan&apos;s cool, I hope he sticks around.

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9FSphS0EkK4&amp;t=1823">30:23</a> To add more context to this as a Filipino Catholic myself and went to Catholic School and raised in a society that was 95% Catholic thanks to Spanish Colonization.<br><br>The Spanish Inquisition was not as effective as it seemed since even then, the Catholic Church acted on the basis of Science and Secular Logic as Saint Augustine fortold to the Vatican and many Inquisitors found out that most so called &quot;Witches&quot; be it male or female was just someone a person hated and wanted dead.<br><br>They actually stopped many Witch Trials and even completely branded those who were doing them as Heretics to the Catholic Faith and was sent to Trial under the Law of the Council of Paderborn when it came to those bold enough to burn so called &quot;Witches&quot; under the watchful eye of the Vatican.<br><br>The Inquisition worked on Secular Trials like Alonso de Salazar Frias who was effective in telling the masses to stop Witch Burnings as they were useless, heretical, and made no sense at all and even at the very start, the Inquisition was already skeptical of the Malles Maleficarum and labeled it as supertitious since its not base in any Scientific Theory at all.<br><br>The act of &quot;Witch Burning&quot; was also deemed as Heretical by the Church. It was the Protestants that did most of these heinous crimes since at the time, they were far more varied and spread out. The most famous ones weren&apos;t done by Catholics but Puritan Protestants and Nations.<br><br>Though some Catholic Priests and Bishops did sign off on some Trials even the Inquisition, its far small and tiny conpared to Protestant Nations where it was fully embraced and even encouraged.
