Ralph Lauren may be a fashion icon, but in all honesty, he looks like someone at a novelty event in that picture! It's the more elaborate version of the black tie tee shirt, in my opinion. I can imagine seeing that at some sort of hiking gala with bouncy castles worn by the attendants.

I’ll be honest here because you so often hear that only Ralph Lauren “pulls off” the look, it doesn’t look good at all 😅

I tend to break up a grey check three-piece suit sometimes by combining it with a brown flannel jacket or a navy blazer

Here in Italy, this technique is predominant and so pleasing to the eye. 🎩

That brown 3-piece is gorgeous all by itself.

If I'm going to mix, I prefer the look of a contrasting waistcoat vs matching jacket and trousers. (Come to think of it, that might work really well with Preston's blue and charcoal suits.)

I admit, being still afraid to break up my suits. That I can't pull it off with all these colors, patterns, textures, and fits. I had a hard enough time finding a pocket square of harmonious but different color to my ties and shirts. Thank you for sharing this technique and confidence.

It would be useful if you could make a video about the do's and don'ts of wedding guest attire. Thank you in advance!

Pale blue trousers and waistcoat go great with an ivory jacket

Whew, I thought it was taking like, a sleeve from one suit and sewing it onto another. ;)

I've learned that odd color suit combos allow you to be more flexible with your sock choices, unlike full matching suits. And I've also learned that it's best to pair your dress clothing as odd color combos when buying them off the rack, since you most likely won't find any exact matching pieces.

Your last outfit, with your pink and purple tipped petal carnation along with your dark red, blue and gray bowtie and your cerulean blue, burnt orange and magenta Egyptian pocket square and your warm pink socks and ox blood loafers along with the rest of your carefully chosen outfit is truly gorgeous. And, the choice of your color combinations by grounding them on a warm color palette is brilliant. Thank you for so carefully describing and thereby sharing is truly appreciated.
