❤ In Rens chapters he tells the story of how he met Sam. Ren is a bit older than Sam. Ren says he was walking home with his amp and guitar from busking one day I think Sam was 16. Ren says he heard this amazing voice and saw this kid busting by singing on the sidewalk and he noticed there wasn't much ppl. He stopped and told Sam that if he had an amp and people could hear him they would stop so Ren plugged his amp in for Sam and sat down in the background and played some guitar while Sam drew a crowd. They were friends from then on!

To me Sams voice is near perfection but Ren's is captivating.

I think as a songwriter, you’d really appreciate Ren’s version of bittersweet symphony. He uses the orchestral backing but it’s his own lyrics. The bassist from the verve liked it so much, he gifted Ren a guitar.

Whether you react to it or just go check it out, I think you’d enjoy it

You would love The Big Push busking singing Wade in the Water/Nina Simone/Trouble so Hard. Ren and Gorrans vocals are amazing on it 😊

I get the same joy whenever Ren is playing with anyone else. He's a brilliant solo artist but he clearly loves collaborating with others, be it musically or any kind of creative endeavour.

Great reaction btw.

The friendship between Ren and Sam is adorable. They work so well together. Ren's video crew (frequently Josh Styles or Joe Flack) have learned and improved so much from these early days, as well.

The Grammys have been missing the point for many years now. At this point, I think they are moot when it comes to good music.
