  Here's one to scare the living daylights out of you ,I'm 68 years old now but as a 27 year old I was in that tent in the middle of the stadium as the lightning engineer in 37 years as a sound and lightning engineer that was the greatest 27 minutes of my life , felt sorry for David Bowie who had to follow them

  Fun fact - Brian May (lead guitarist) has a PhD in Astrophysics, built his own guitar, and he has worked with NASA on the New Horizons Pluto mission, co-authored astronomy books, and has an asteroid named after him.

  The brilliance of Queen at Live Aid is that they had the same 20 minute time slot everyone else did. <br><br>But where everyone else played 20 minutes worth of songs, Queen crafted a 20 minute show that took the audience on a short, immersive, emotional adventure with Queen and Freddie Mercury was their tour guide. <br><br>Timeless.

  The reason you don&apos;t see performers like this anymore is because Freddie&apos;s level of talent, his intense passion for music, his commitment to every note he sang and every song he wrote, never mind his incredible stage presence and charisma, was a once-in-a-lifetime phenomenon. &nbsp;Not only were Freddie and Queen quintessential musicians who achieved their goals through nothing but hard work and perseverance, but they were all extremely intelligent, well-educated, and talented individuals in their own right, who had tremendous vision and cared deeply about the music they produced. &nbsp;Not to mention their live performances quite often surpassed their studio versions, which can&apos;t be said of too many artists because it takes a great deal of real talent to pull that off. &nbsp;IMO, not only is today&apos;s music sorely lacking in talent, passion and soul (as evidenced by the common use of all sorts of electronic/digital assistance in lieu of actual talent), but there&apos;s no genuine desire to do anything except make a quick buck. &nbsp;Which is why no one will remember it in a few years, if that, let alone 40 or 50 years. &nbsp;BTW, if Freddie&apos;s voice was a little &quot;off&quot; a couple of times during Live Aid, consider the fact that he performed that day against his doctor&apos;s advice due to having a serious throat infection. &nbsp;Freddie and the whole band were on fire that day, which is why we&apos;re still watching this incredible concert and talking about it 40 years later!

  Live Aid was a benefit concert for the famine in Africa. Multiple musicians played 20 minutes slots throughout the day and night. It was mega. That is why there are drinks already on the piano and the time stamp for Queen’s performance start.
