  I ‘m not watching this video, but I’m reading many of the comments. So here’s what I know, old Shasta has a very nice bicycle trail the go’s up to the Shasta dam.  Weed, take Hwy 97 off I 5 there’s  a nice  shop where you can get some weed! The town of Isleton it’s pretty unique it is along the Sacramento river it is a quiet area. One of the many little towns north of Sacramento Sacramento has 400,000 people. It’s one of the cleanest cities I’ve ever seen or been in, Julian is 500 miles south as other have pointed out out great apple pies also a tourist destination.  Back up to Sacramento there’s Sutters Fort  this video mentions a small town that was formed during the gold rush. Sutter’s fort was built during the gold Rush and a long highway 49. There’s a place where the gold was discovered. I’m not gonna tell you where that’s at. We don’t need any more tourist, but if you do come there’s lots of really cute communities. There’s just one community and it’s an old western town on the 1800s preserves when I was 18 I had this friend who was seven years older than I am and we had a group of people we would go to this western town and we’d have old-fashioned gun fights. We use blanks in our real guns They have a stagecoach you can go ride in, Hwy 49 you could continue on going south. Try to see if you can get into Yellowstone now in the 21st century with 340 million citizens of this country. The national parks are very hard to get into during the summer months and if you do find yourself on Highway one, you can go find a tree a great big redwood tree hundreds of years old as you can drive through but if you’re a republican with a Massey four-wheel-drive pick up raised up find a great big American flag like you’re some kind of greater citizen than any of us are he won’t make it through that tree and then there’s the Avenue with the Giants. It’s about 30 miles long passes through the redwoods now I probably told you too much about California and you’re thinking about coming here, we used to have a sign that we put on our bumpers. You know what they call those bumper stickers we used to have these great big chrome bumpers lots of room for stickers (now that you’ve seen  California now go home)

  I was seriously considering moving to Rough and Ready until I found out they were too weak to just start their own still. Not very rough at all.. Here&apos;s what happened: <br><br>&quot;Rough and Ready could not buy alcohol after seceding because neighboring towns refused to sell goods, including alcohol, to the breakaway republic. <br> <br>After the town voted to secede from the Union on April 7, 1850, to form the self-declared &quot;Great Republic of Rough and Ready,&quot; nearby settlements responded with disdain. <br>These neighboring towns treated the seceded miners as &quot;foreigners&quot; or outsiders, denying them service at local stores and saloons. <br>This boycott was particularly impactful when residents sought to purchase alcohol to celebrate the Fourth of July, leading the town to vote to rejoin the United States on July 4, 1850, specifically to regain access to the drinks.&quot;

  Thanks for the tour of these interesting towns. I&apos;ve only visited about a half dozen, and many were completely new to me! But it was a little odd to have a shot of an Amsterdam canal to illustrate a red light district in a California ghost town in the Mojave desert.

  Lived in Volcano for 11 years. Great little town population as of the last time I went trough was 103.The Union Inn is a wonderful place for dinner. Is it haunted? Most places in the Motherlode are haunted. If you visit Murphy&apos;s be sure to stop by Ironstone Winery. Did I mention the Kautz family who own it are distant relatives?

  I&apos;ve lived in California since 1955 and have been to 7 of your listed towns. Your research has uncovered facts about these towns I wasn&apos;t aware of. &nbsp;To be honest, there are several listed I&apos;ve never heard of. &nbsp;I now have a new list of destinations to visit. &nbsp;Thank you for producing such a wonderful video. &nbsp;I enjoyed every minute of it. &nbsp;Cheers, Dave

I say this as someone who had a front-row seat in the related field of stained glass, having spent several years as an assistant in the stained glass restoration studio at the Cypress Lawn Memorial Park in Colma, which has approx 35,000 sq feet of stained glass, much of it by icons in the craft like Tiffany, Lamb, and LaFarge. One of Harmony&apos;s beautiful small vases has graced the shelf of my favorite bookcase for decades. No matter the size of the hamlet, Harmony Glassworks would put it on the map - a beautiful place.
