My mother treated me to a trip to Spain and pilgrimage on the Camino when she was 74 and I was 50. We each practiced walking with loaded backpacks for 9 months before we left. We read Joyce Rupp’s book, Walk in a Relaxed Manner, and followed her advice. We doubled up on our socks wearing a thin layer and a thicker layer. We stopped each day to change out our socks. Neither one of us had a single blister. My favorite adventure yet!

I'm 73 and walk 6-8 miles every day so I walk 500 miles every 2+ months. Changed my life in so many ways for the better!

Also, you have one another...being with someone you love really makes a huge difference. My husband passed away 5 years ago from Parkinsons. I've started hiking and kayaking with a church group. It's what my husband would want me to do, keep on living. Thanks for the inspiration.

We did it at 60 and the Camino was a challenge. Total miles walked was a little over 500 miles. We both lost over 10 pounds and felt great. It was a challenge but we recommend it to all ages

You two look great for your age. That’s all the proof I need. You are taking the most powerful anti-aging supplement that exists.

When I retired we moved from the city to a small town surrounded by many trails. I got a Labrador Retriever so that I could go for long walks everyday. Initially the dog was for security (we are surrounded by cougars and bears) but in the end she is great company and makes the walks more enjoyable.

My in-laws walked the Camino two or three times in their 60s. They also hiked the Appalachian Trail completely but overly a couple of years. My mother in law is gone now and my father in law has dementia and cannot really walk anymore. For their 50th anniversary, they walked across Scotland. Perhaps my husband and I will walk the Camino in their honor. We miss hiking with them.

I am going out on an hour walk in the forest around a lake in a few minutes. Just shared this video with my hiking partners. We are all about 70. I am losing weight, getting stronger, and my heart rate, blood sugar, and cholesterol have improved. And my mood has been more stable aside from normal feelings. I am grateful I could retire and have the time to go for a long walk every day, sometimes twice a day. I also am on a dragonboat paddling team with other breast cancer patients & survivors, and I take a yoga class once a week. I stretch daily and lift weights twice a week. Dedicated to my good health. Turning 70 makes it a higher priority. Never underestimate a silver-haired woman!🛶💕🐕💦🏃🏼♀️🌲🌞

The video itself and also the comments from viewers were all very inspirational. I'm 76 and I have just begun my walking program again after a short illness. I am SO happy to be outside and walking again!🎉💫
