  I met many of this type of men 30 years ago in Thailand, same same but different. It all boils down to two things, bad at managing their own lives, and not enough money.

  There’s a massive difference between running towards a new chapter and running away from an old one. Moving abroad doesn&apos;t magically fix a broken mindset. It&apos;s refreshing to see someone call out the illusion that a change of scenery equals a change of soul. Another crucial point you illustrated is the connection to home. Social media posts are no substitute for a healthy foundation—regularly calling, staying in touch, and actually visiting. Glad you highlighted that.

  If someone wants to get away from it all, they could go there for a short time and then go home. Then, there&apos;s no vested interest in maintaining being in a culture that has so many drawbacks. You can have your social life where you came from, and a short fantasy world where you don&apos;t drain your health, wallet and psychological health.

  Everybody should have a spreadsheet and track their money. &nbsp; It should be a big red flag.If their money is dwindling.

  Sharp video. Old pal of mine fits the bill perfectly, he’s incapable of listening and also hopeless with money. I told him that paradise is a state of mind, not a location. I was ignored. Depression, narcissism, type 2 diabetes, heart condition, and erectile disfunction aren’t making for a happy retirement.

  One of the most emotionally intelligent analysis of life. This is about expats but many of the issues apply to people living in their own countries or even countries they immigrated to work. Psychiatrists charge a lot to help realise the same conclusions. Very well done.

  you don&apos;t cash out a pension. A pension keeps going until you die, and often goes to spouse after death.
