  I agree with the idea of Sonic stories having more lasting consequences, but wouldn&apos;t go as far as having several characters die. What the series needs are character arcs that close out their stories in a way that integrates them into what&apos;s basically Sonic&apos;s endless adventures. Something akin to getting a new party member in a JRPG, or a character getting their own storyline that pushes them to join the MC on their quest. For example:<br><br>Knuckles could have a story where he learns more about the echidna race and the master emerarld, coming to realize that solely guarding the master emerald is a selfish action. Maybe the emerald&apos;s will was always to protect the world, and the echidnas took its power for their own salvation. Knuckles then chooses to move on from the past and join Sonic on his adventures, going from a &quot;guardian of the master emerald&quot; to a &quot;guardian of the world&apos;. <br><br>Silver learns that the future is fated to be destroyed. At some point in time, Sonic and everyone else lose the battle and the world ends. So to defy fate, Silver resigns himself to stay in the past, become the turning point that can truly save the future, at the expense of never being able to see what that future looks like. <br><br>Something like this wouldn&apos;t change the fact that these characters show up all the time, but it recontextualizes it to be a lot more meaningful that they ARE here. Rather than them just being there and giving us questions we will never get an answer to.

  In Sonic’s original Japanese characterization, he was never a hero. He just does what feels right.

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nPD2KPgfaA&amp;t=633">10:33</a> actually sonic is also considered an introvert due to many mentions of him &nbsp;enjoying his alone time more than his friends, and even left them behind at the end of every adventure, &nbsp;the comics in IDW only shows times where he&apos;s more talkative than him relaxing and being alone, like his classic counterpart, so in a way they do have some similar traits to each other

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nPD2KPgfaA&amp;t=629">10:29</a> Blaze is literally Sonic from another dimension though, and he has never outright beaten her, and they&apos;re kind of opposites (Sonic fears water, Blaze fears heights, her color scheme is literally Sonic but inverted (Green eyes turn to purple fur, blue fur turns to yellow eyes), both have the same shoe design and have gold accessories as well.

  Tbh i LIKE the fact that sonic prioritizes freedom over traditional justice. i LIKE to see a hero who’s not the stereotypical kind, i think thats cool ! I also think it makes for some great conflict between him and shadow as shadow’s always trying to accomplish the same “save the world” bit as sonic but in a different way. That’s cool to me. Idk maybe im just brainwashed by IDW

  “I feel like Blaze is his opposite, not his equal.”<br><br>Equal in this case isn’t meant to mean “same”, it stands for being analogues. <br><br>Blaze’s personality is counter to Sonic’s, which is exactly the point. Her sense of duty and responsibility is equal to Sonic’s sense of freedom. Her intense, overwhelming fire is an equal to Sonic’s free-flowing wind. <br><br>Where we see similarities is in their roles. They’re both the protectors of their respective lands and utilize the powers of their respective emeralds. <br><br>I feel like it was pretty apparent in Sonic Rush that the two were supposed to be two sides of the same coin.

  Here is my Sonic Hot Take: The Deadly Six aren’t actually that bad. I think they’re just overhated because they look more like Mario characters than the attractive, furry-style characters that the Sonic community tends to prefer.

  Sonic fighting for his own ideals is what makes him so interesting <br><br>Well I love plenty of greater good characters <br>Sonic as a character does what he thinks is right, not what is right<br><br>He believes in freedom for all and it shouldn’t be taken from anyone <br><br>Yes he won’t take a villain to jail but he won’t free one either<br>He believes in freedom of choice <br><br>One of my favorite idw interactions is the one with Zavok where Zavok threatens he’ll come back and do harm and Sonic says he won’t let his fear get in the way of what he stands for<br><br>Making it that he does the right thing no matter what would make him feel like a generic platformer mascot <br><br>Also in Black Knight he was surprised when King Arthur disappeared<br>Killing wasn’t the first thing he was trying to do but he is willing to accept when people see him as bad guy

  Killing knuckles with zero context is such a weird and off-putting take to me. Of all the arc driven characters that have actually plateaued in development and lore like shadow, or silver that could afford to be written off choosing knuckles a flat character whos intrinsically linked to one of the most powerful constant miguffins in the series and one of the three main characters isnt even a narratively sensible take.
