  Revelations is the only reason I didn&apos;t completely give up on RE during the &quot;action era&quot; as you call it.

  played this game completely on the 3DS with a circle pad pro and it was insane. felt like playing a full console game on a handheld

  Before RE7 this game brought back Survival Horror to the franchise. It&apos;s a shame it was a side game for a handheld console majority of the population didn&apos;t have.

  whats fun is RE9 used this same format of having back and forth where one side is more horror and the other is more action to a better degree than Revelations

  The episodic format, and how they implemented the story with flashbacks and jumping settings, was definitely a product of its time. Episodic games started getting popular around this time with Tell Tale making bangers left and right. Generally the games followed a very TV drama style of storytelling that wasn&apos;t uncommon in shows like Arrow. Some episodes would end on a sort of cliffhanger just to flashback to Oliver&apos;s time on the island, or focus on some other character&apos;s drama. Kind of works to keep people watching every week on TV, and for these types of games, they were doing the same thing with DLC passes. That was more the case for Revelations 2, but I think Rev 1 was definitely testing the waters here.

  Just lil Fyi: in Raid mode you get to see that at the level where Parker falls, isn&apos;t fire but water. When you shoot into the lower area it makes the same visual as if you shoot into water. So that&apos;s on how Parker survived - he swam to less flooded area and made his leg worse. To keep Raymond off raidar they pretended he was shored off on Malta.
