  I grew up watching Petticoat Junction, Green Acres, Andy Griffith and Beverly Hillbillies. There will never be another time on TV like that again!

  A little history Eddie Albert was in the Navy in WWll. He was at the battle of Tarwawa. He would drive his Higgins boat around plucking wounded Marines out of the water under fire. A real hero. Semper fi

  I&apos;m old enough to remember the family getting together every week to watch Petticoat Junction, Green Acres, The Beverly Hillbillies, and other great sitcoms of the 1960&apos;s and early 70&apos;s on our black and white console TV. It was a great time to grow up, with lots of good, funny and wholesome TV shows.

  A hundred miles to the east of &quot;Green Acres&quot; is the little town of Pixley, CA. &quot;Pixley&quot; was mentioned often in Petticoat Junction and Green Acres for both of their runs. The Hooverville Cannonball train ran between Hooverville and Pixley in both of the series. The Hooverville Cannonball was about two hundred miles north in Jamestown, CA. in a railroad museum. It was also Secret Service agent James West&apos;s train in the series, &quot;The Wild, Wild West&quot;, which was being produced at the same time as these series.

  There is one thing that Green Acres, Petticoat Junction, and the Andy Griffith show all had in common. And that is, all three shows had the same telephone operator named Sarah.

  My hubby loves Green Acres so much that one year for Christmas a friend gave him an original cast photo. He found it at an antique shop. He had it authenticated before he gave it to hubby. It&apos;s really cool. :}
