  There isn’t a reason to get mad as a baker. There’s a reason why retail and small business prices are different. Small business put in more work, labor, and detail (so do some Walmart bakers). Retail is there for more affordable prices. I do think it’s rude to tell a small business to reduce their prices (to a certain extent). People will pay for what they can afford and what they think is worth their money. I love to bake and aspire to own a bakery, but I completely understand people who buy retail price bakery items cause I do too.

  Not the last girl: 1) admitting she sometimes uses shitty type of chocolate for her sweets; 2) not sharing her business on her private page, knowing damn well her business will be judged by what type of person she is; 3) saying she&apos;s making a 500% profit price of her products. <br>Some people just never know when to zip it...

  I will continue shouting it: Former walmart bakery manager here. It&apos;s a lot of work! Walmart bakers work so hard! I&apos;d love to see these at home bakers survive Graduation Season. At max it&apos;s two people doing all that work, for all the graduations that 8 schools need in the area, not including the college. I personally frosted 500 cupcakes before my lunch to help out (in a blackout!). <br>Do they get all their cakes delivered pre baked? Yes. But I am going to compare the prep time for that to baking a cake (I do bake on my own, I know the prep and the time it takes). It takes an hour for it to thaw and be able to be iced. We have to cut the sizes ourselves, those boxes are HEAVY. Prep everything up, have it placed on racks in a food safe area. Separate it all, keep track of orders and colors. They make their colors. They are trying new techniques constantly. They are keeping up with changing designs. Not anyone can be a walmart cake decorator. And not every decorator can do it with the SPEED I had seen my coworkers do it at. One little old lady could base ice and do a ribbon trim like no one&apos;s business. She had been doing it for 20 years and had a system and a grip. <br><br>If someone wants to spend the extra money to get from a small time baker, they will. But most people getting their cakes from walmart were never going to buy from the small bakers to start.

  They&apos;re literally whining that now poor people are going to have nice things too. The way every single small baker, jewellery maker, little business wants to market themselves as &apos;&apos;luxury&apos;&apos; is ridiculous. Like nothing says &apos;&apos;luxury&apos;&apos; like getting your source material from target 😂

  I love supporting small business. Nothing is more satisfying to me than finding that one, independently owned place that’s damn good at what they do. However I absolutely despise when small businesses try and give preachy defenses for bad products. “We’re a small business” doesn’t work if you’re horrifically upcharging people for untempered chocolate and sometimes just substitute it for even cheaper stuff without telling them 😭😭😭

  Not even using real chocolate or tempering the chocolate candy melts and then charging 50 bucks is insane. Not to mention admitting to using lower quality ingredients when her ingredients are low and then not changing the price to match
