  I feel like Bart was one of those guys that believed a zombie apocalypse would happen, so he knows a lot about the zombies but nothing about actually being a decent human being

  if you think about it the breaking of Bartholomew's fedora represents character growth and shows the theme of this story, Bartholomew was stable he had food farms books and a comfortable home, he could have wasted his life as he was assumed to have done beforehand but instead he used his comfort to better himself changing both mentally and physically an example of how the story represents this change is how he treats rain previously he cowered from the rain running for shelter but after the fedora he actively embraced it and not just that he used it to better himself truly amazing storytelling

  Imagine if some of your challenge characters were to team up into a group. Builder Bobby, Trash and Bart would clear out Lexington and turn it into a massive and fully functioning base in a matter of days.
