Well he did briefly along with Zinoviev enter into a joint Opposition with Trotsky against Stalin-Bukharin. But it was too little too late.

and yet there are tens of thousands of young people in Europe and the USA who proudly declare themselves to be communists. Maybe a history lesson like this might give them a reality check?

Vyshinsky was sent to New York as Soviet representative in the United Nations, in reality a sophisticated form of exile. He died in New York in circumstances strongly reminiscent of the techniques of secret poisoning of enemies of the regime.

What is this nonsense about a "standard narrative " i have never heard of any mainstream view of history that sees Kamenev as an innocent by stander... For instance not by any political party elected in the west .. left or right

Marxism aimed for equal society without even need for govt. This nonsense derives from denying differential human character as fundamental just as nature itself is fundamentally disordered.<br><br>Führerprinzip rules but only via absolute standards. Bolshevism had neither, nor does liberal democracy.
