This is totally something Spinal Tap would come up with.

The song was used in a pretty funny Volkswagen commercial for a 1999 Super Bowl ad.

My 1979 senior prom. Styx, "come sail away" was the theme song. Still remember that night.

This was like when Spinal Tap tried to reinvent itself as a jazz fusion band.

In was in Houston Texas that the end came. Ted Nugent had just fired up the stadium crowd with his Motor City Madman antics, and Tommy Shaw said, "I can't go out there and make myself look stupid". Reminds me of - <br>"I'm NOT WEARING the Bat Suit, Ozzy!" ~ Zakk Wylde

For me, the Styx song that most successfully married the disparate influences in the band was Suite Madame Blue, which was penned by DeYoung. As much as I despise Mr. Roboto and all the theatrical garbage around it, DeYoung's talent shines brightly in the earlier song, and if you haven't heard it, or have forgotten it, do yourself a favor and listen to it now, all the way through, at high volume. That is a classic 70's arena rock song. I don't know what the hell Mr. Roboto is.

Dennis DeYoung was the Peter Cetera of Styx. He wanted to be Liza Minnelli’s Musical Director and play Broadway show tunes.

I remember them headlining the Texas jam and everyone walking out on them when they started playing Mr Roboto
