  Never played Rust, but from an Outsider perspective, feels like Rust is just one giant game of creating the most efficient Rat Trap

  I once spend an entire day building a super elaborate trap base with wiring and everything. After like 16 hours in function I basically just got like 20 rocks despite it being in a crazy populated area. <br><br>I then just for fun built an elevated triangle foundation with a super obvious shotgun trap facing upward and a small locked box on top. it somehow got me aks and enough resources to build a box full of guns, rockets, etc in less than a few hours. Honestly I think it’s impossible to tell what will work on other players anymore lmao

  Had some goober try this on me just yesterday. Kept popping in and out of the air lock to bait me and my buddies over. He kind of made it painfully obvious it was a trap base… my friend still full sent it in regardless.

  The only problem I&apos;ve had with this base is that there is never enough boxes to hold all the loot you&apos;ll get!

  You can run the hopper off of the timer too, the hopper only needs to be powered on when the doors are opened. It&apos;ll save you the need for the root combiner and one of the solar panels. Your setup can easily run for a while without power generation if you have a med or large battery that&apos;s been fully charged elsewhere. The only thing that needs to be continuously powered in the build is the conveyor, if the conveyor doesn&apos;t have power during server restart it&apos;ll be reset into the &quot;off&quot; position.

I&apos;ve got so many hours in this game and I NEVER knew this!<br>There is SOOOO many cheeky damned things I&apos;ve done with just straight line connections. &quot;slacking&quot; the wires? That&apos;ll make hiding stuff significantly easier.<br>P.S. with one the latest DLC&apos;s, you have wall shelves you can put boxes in.
