Gary Brooker, a full Orchestra, a Hammond B-3, and a choir. A Whiter Shade Of Pale never sounded better. An outstanding performance!

Gary Brooker, lead singer for Procol Harum, released this song in May of 1967. I heard it on the radio and immediately bought the single, then the album. It became part of the soundtrack of my life that summer, my first term at university. It's one of the most iconic songs of the late 1960s, and this symphonic version is mind-blowingly good. Brooker's voice was just as good here in his mid-60s as when he was in his twenties, if not better. Unfortunatley, RIP Gary; he died a couple years ago.

This came out in 1967, was played at every single party. I will never forget how lucky we all were to live through one of greatest times in history.
