Honestly, the dude inspired me when i was in a dark place and was one of the main factors in my start to self-improvement. years later, im in a place where I would never have been had I not started going to the gym and working on myself. Gear or not its the personality that inspired me. Him passing shed a massive light on gear and the negatives with taking it, hence why i am natural and always will be. We are all gonna make it brah

You are the ONLY bodybuilding podcast/ interviewer/writer that I watch brother! After I did the Nationals I looked in the mirror and said, “WTF am I doing this for!?”. That’s the reason I respect you so much brother; you speak and write the truth! I’m glad you decided to keep making videos and sharing your wealth of knowledge!

Love this channel. I always viewed bodybuilding as civilised masculinity, strength without violence, but looking at all the premature deaths and mental illness - modern fitness is a long way from the manliness of Reeves and Park or the confidence of Schwarzenegger.

Zyzz inspired many shy, leas confident teenage boys to go and develop muscles . Yeah, it's cool to go to the clubs and raves with a buff body, dance, and sleep with girls.
Young teenage boys need to spend time developing their personalities if they want to meet women and become more popular.
Charles Manson had a harem of young females and when would dance at clubs would have the entire club around him like Travolta. He was skinny and had no muscle and was way below average height
. The point is body-building is a discilpine and should be a passion. A love for training, eating healthy, and living a clean life so that you may live long and also be strong and not be embarrassed at how you look. If you want to compete, that's great because you will develop more discipline, which can help you in other areas of life.
A young kid shouldn't have to feel he has to take steroids and be buff to go and dance and pick up girls. Personality and
self confidence is what young men should prioritise not their triceps and biceps.

You hit the nail on the head - “he became the poster”
he definitely created an avatar of himself & it was never the real him… AT ALL!
the life he created on the screen, the drugs taken, the bunk steroids used, the raves, the benders, owing money, that killed him.
And the original crew of friends refused to be on the doco. I’m surprised babo even accepted to be on it. He disappeared, just like the others after Aziz died…. because it was a dark, toxic & drugged up time of all our 20’s lives… nothing positive about it. Some of us like myself experienced it here in Syd. For example I had some of the later crew members try crash my hotel parties… they didn’t leave untouched that’s for sure

It's sad this sort of thing is still happening today. Arguably more widespread. I saw a video the other day about a 16 year old kid openly juicing and not bothered about the risks. I see kids in the gym probably doing the same. Acne backed muscle Mary's who you never see deadlift, bench or squat. Is it narcissism? I'm not so sure. I started training at 16 and it was probably the first time in my life I could actually see results from my physical efforts which were solely my own. The feeling I got from this, especially when I'd been told I was not good enough for any sport built up my sense of self. I would hate to be the kid in a sports mad country like Australia whose told he's no good for AFL, cricket, rugby, basketball etc. The gym is probably the last hope for a lot of young men, misfits if you like, but unlike with a team sport all the results are your own. There is probably a credible arguement to be made that young men like this were let down in some way by the system. I was told by doctors from the age of 4 my legs were weak and I'd be incapable of playing any sport. That stuck with me for all my childhood. The mental damage alone, some nameless person living rent free in my head because they were a so called expert my parents trusted. To make matters worse I only had sisters, who were all physically better than me at everything, and people think Arnie had it bad. It's such a shame these kids don't seem to grasp the fact that in the grand scheme of things they have their whole lives ahead of them. 22 is no age.
