You could argue we see the little girl "turn". And she kind of had to before Bryan could "put her down" otherwise that's just extremely dark. But I think she was still in there as Bryan's transformation ended with his eye turning orange and becoming overtly aggressive, where before he was still asking for help, he just didn't have control over the zombie side of himself; which makes the fact Bryan shooting that girl very dark in retrospect even if it was too late.

This was such a good review!

I had the take that it was nice for it to be grounded in the ahoes of someone that WASN'T a key player like your Jill, Leon, Chris, etc. It offers both key insight into the world and how we'd fare in the world; AND ALSO almost like putting the viewer in the shoes of someone playing the games. It was such a powerful vehicle for both fans and experts alike. Hope to see more reviews from you!

I was playing the RE4 remake right when this film came out
It was really fun! I haven’t played all the games (nor am I a hardcore fan), but I loved the protagonist not being good with guns

I had no idea he played the drug addict in Weapons 😂

As someone who hasn't played a Resident Evil game. I had a lot of fun. Bryan was a fun MC he seems pretty close to how someone might act in horror movie he makes jokes, some dumb decisions but also isn’t stupid. I also liked the way it's shoot it had a third person game feel.

Most of my resident evil exposure is the previous movies. (Im trying to get in to the resident evil games- I swear lol) I did make me very curious since the scored higher than sonic movie 3, and if you know me by “zapatitosonic” - I love sonic. Game movie adaptations as you said, heavily relies on the references. And there’s times where it does expect the viewer how these lore details make sense. But for a casual, they’ll be confused. So I’m glad to hear the positive reviews RE movie 2026 is getting.

I related to to Bryan’s character way too many times since the start of the film. Not many movies do that 😂😂❤️

Good review, I really liked the movie and enjoyed a lot of the humour but the Umbrella guy who dropped the cure and especially the final segment with the scientists were way too comedic imo. I think the movie would be close to perfect if after he leaves the voice message it kept that more serious and sad tone.
