The Real Reason Yoda’s Past Was Kept Secret

Yoda is one of the greatest Jedi Masters in Star Wars history—but one of the biggest questions about him has never been fully answered: how did he become a Jedi? In this video, we explore what Star Wars canon actually reveals about Yoda’s early path, his unknown first teacher, his rise through the Jedi Order, and how he became a master who trained Jedi for more than 800 years. We also separate confirmed canon from older Star Wars Legends stories, including the long-debated question: Who trained Yoda? Rather than retelling familiar movie events, this deep dive focuses on the mystery behind Yoda’s beginning: his hidden species, unknown homeworld, early Jedi training, life as a teacher, place within the Jedi Council, and his lifelong search to understand the Force. Yoda’s past remains one of the most protected mysteries in the entire galaxy—but the clues we do have reveal why he became such a legendary Jedi Master.
