  What I don’t understand about planner is that it’s not that difficult to create a better more flexible version of planner in SharePoint using lists. The only feature that SharePoint doesn’t support is the ability to have checklist, even that could probably be duplicated.<br><br>Another consideration is using notebooks which have the progress tracker components that are even more flexible than planner itself. Having the ability to have custom fields is a huge missing piece.

  Great Video - again :) Question: How will this all relate to Planner Premium? I still see those two worlds not merging enough. Will the standard planner be the final planner in the future? For now, we use Planner Premium because it is more powerful in planning projects.

  But now, Enhanced Planner plans no-longer available to Copilot. It must be part of making basic planner available to Copilot. But, it&apos;s a bummer because I was liking the level of detail in the Enhanced Planner

  There&apos;s still a lot of basic functionality missing though compared to third-party apps: the ability to use custom fields for metadata, there&apos;s only a deadline field, not a &quot;planned on&quot; field, limited list options, which makes it hard to document complex project processes, no project logging (logging about what happened when you worked on it). Now i have to link multiple documents in order to keep it all together. And, no way to make task templates.

  The biggest issue I think I still see is that if anyone working together uses premium plans, everyone needs a planner license. The experience for non-planner-licensed users is abysmal in premium plans. Premium and regular plans are too different architecturally to ever make a cohesive solution without discrepancies that bug down usability, training, and licensing. So what are they doing? Are they going to fix that or eventually back-port all features from planner premium to planner infrastructure, make a premium old and premium new plan with premium new being on the regular planner infrastructure, and then migrate all premium old plans to premium new plans. I hope. Until then there will always be questions of “is anyone without planner licenses ever going to need to be added to this plan, if so, we have to pick the plan type with less features”.

  It makes no sense that the iPhone app is different to the teams/web app. And you can&apos;t use or see premium plans on the phone app. No good for site work

  Such a cool tool that I will never use because I still cannot just share with one person at a time. I do not want to make a whole M365 group just to share a Planner board. I&apos;m for opinionated software but this is too restrictive. I&apos;m sure there&apos;s an infrastructure reason behind this but they should have fixed this ages ago, even if they&apos;re really just abstracting away some hidden temp 365 group that still manages the sharing.

  Until they decouple GROUPS from Planner, we&apos;re going to continue spending exorbitant money on other productivity tools. I can&apos;t stop someone from deleting an entire plan, or removing me from a group tied to a plan. I can&apos;t give someone view-only access to a plan or restrict access within a plan. Absurd in 2026.

  Adding custom fields should be part of the free tier features. Maybe cap it at 5 before locking it behind a paywall.<br><br>Also, the @mention feature. MS List has this, why have they not port it to Planner?
