We Americans, we love helping strangers, it's what most of us are taught as kids. If someone invites you over for dinner ,, you wash there dishes. <br>See someone carrying groceries, without asking you start helping.<br>That's what we were taught.

Tipping is a suggestion, you don't have to tip. If you get bad service you don't have to tip. If you go into a store and there's a tipping jar you don't have to tip. It's not against the law not to tip. It's your money and you decide how you spend your money.
