  As a woman who did that diet wise... he is NOT the asshole. He knew it was hard for her so don't ask and make her say no when she has already said it. He is supporting her. My husband did the asking initially and it made it sooo much harder. Once he stopped asking, or just bringing things home it was MUCH easier.

  My son is on the spectrum and he used to cry whenever we would sing him happy birthday so we stopped until he started to binge Futurama and now we sing the “What day is today, it’s Dex’s birthday, what a day for a birthday, let’s all have some cake!” and he likes that. You gotta respect it if people react badly to stuff, it doesn’t matter if it makes you happy if it’s about them.

  The second OP was damned if he did and damned if he didn't. His GF had repeatedly talked about cutting out pastries. If he had brought her a pastry or texted about it, then she probably would have been angry because he doesn't listen. He purposely didn't get one in an effort to respect her wishes and she is angry about that!

  Telling someone you cheated 20 years later is selfish. It is taking your partners peace, trust, and joy to relieve your own guilt. Go to therapy and learn to let it go.

My dad is a very outgoing and talkative person but as soon as he feels like a woman is being too friendly he backs off immediately. My dad, while he has many faults, loves and respects my mom (and me) with everything in him. If you told my mom he cheated (at any point in the past 25+ years) she’d laugh in your face and vise versa. If you don’t have that level of trust then you shouldn’t be with that person.

  I can’t tell you how many times I went to my sister’s house and I cleaned for her. She was also not in a good place mentally for a couple years. I cleaned her kitchen including counter and sink full of dishes, tidied and cleaned her bathroom, and cleaned and organized her bedroom and her kids room with floors covered in laundry and toys. Washed folded and put away all the laundry. Many times. I knew she needed help. So I helped her. That’s what you do when you love someone. The first story is such a betrayal and shows their lack of love and loyalty to their sister. Disgusting.
