  One of my favorite movies. What I don’t understand is how the reactors don’t include the speech. That’s one of the best parts of the whole movie.

  Long comment alert: Travis Willingham who has gone on to have a great career as a voice actor for animated shows and video games played one of the greasers that fought with Duvall&apos;s character in the store. He was the tallest one of the greasers, the one that gets a beer poured on his head by Duvall. He tells a funny story about the fight scene. <br> <br>Travis and the other actors had been rehearsing the fight scene with Duvall&apos;s stunt double for a couple of weeks prior to filming. On the day of the scene Duvall tells everyone that he&apos;s going to do the fight himself having not rehearsed it all up until this point. They talk Robert through the scene, and they get ready to shoot. Travis&apos; first move is trying to punch Duvall in the face; Duvall is supposed to duck it and then counter. It comes time for Travis to punch; he winds up and stops just short of punching Duvall who forgot to duck. <br> <br>Then later it comes to a part of the fight where Duvall is supposed to punch Travis&apos; character in the face. Now what Duvall is supposed to do is punch to the side of Travis&apos; face and Travis is to act like he got hit, because from the perspective of the camera it will look like Duvall actually connected when it was nowhere near Travis. Travis steps up and Duvall punches him right in the nose. Travis yells &quot;OWW&quot; and they cut. &quot;Why&apos;d you yell &quot;oww?&quot; &quot;Because he hit me in the nose.&quot; They do another take, and Duvall hits him in the mouth. Travis&apos; lip starts to swell up, and he&apos;s getting angry. He tells the stunt coordinator to tell Duvall to stop hitting him. The coordinator says that he will and then walks right past Duvall without saying a word to him. The next take and Duvall hit him in the nose again and it starts bleeding a bit. <br> <br>Travis finally asks Duvall to please stop hitting him. Duvall goes, &quot;Aren&apos;t you used to getting hit? You&apos;re a stuntman.&quot; Travis replies, &quot;No I&apos;m an actor.&quot; Now Duvall is angry and he asks, &quot;Who has been letting me hit this poor guy in the face all day,&quot; and a few of the crew raise their hands while kind of chuckling to themselves. <br> <br>Robert then says, &quot;You shouldn&apos;t do that. This kid&apos;s an actor and he could lose out on an acting gig if he shows up to an audition with a black eye or looking all beat up.&quot; Duvall then reaches pulls out his wallet, pulls out $500 and gives it Travis to apologize for hitting him. Travis takes the money and says, &quot;No problem Mr. Duvall. Thank you.&quot;

  I remember watching this with my grandfather. The same man who went to great pains to make sure I understood the difference between fantasy and reality, and that I understood that movies are just fantasy and real life is different. Anyway, this guy thought his old ass could totally beat up 4 greasers in a bar after watching this movie. The man couldn&apos;t stand up without handfulls of painkillers and he didn&apos;t even have half of the bones in his feet that he should have.
