  That really took me all the way back to when Gaylord opened. We used to live opposite the oval maiden in Churchgate, close to Eros. Gaylord was the family favourite. Many afternoons my Dad would take me along for the tea time jazz hour with live bands. As I grew up alfresco breakfast was a unique pleasure. We celebrated many New Year Eves here & my favourite dish was the Chicken A La Kiev. Gaylord has stood the test ot time rather robustly & is one of the few remnants of a charming SOBO fast disappearing.

  I remember Mr Malhotra who has been manager for over 50 years . Unlimited Cona coffee used to be a reason for sitting at Gaylord specially after Cricket Matches at Brabourne Stadium. Music Director Jaikishan Panchal was regular there and probably made famous songs sipping Cona.<br>Those were golden days in Mumbai. &nbsp;The name Gay-Lord was coined by 3 partners Ghai-Lamba.

  At an era where staff stayed for a long time and that was the reason most of Food and Beverage outlets stood the test of time. &nbsp;In the West, &nbsp;Everyday they hire temporary staff so even the food let alone the service gets a 3 out of 10😢

  Kunal is using fork and knife in order to eat in moderation😅 in fact, he&apos;s right. One tends to eat more if using one&apos;s fingers. Chopsticks are even better. Gaylord and Kwality in Delhi too, have stood tall in serving quality punjabi, conti food. When I was posted in Mumbai, my fave in Churchgate were Gaylord and Indian summers. And since I stayed in a Railway complex at Lalbaug, my visits to Pritam da dhaba at Dadar TT were more frequent. It was another gem. Copper chimney at Worli wasn&apos;t bad either. Kunal in his childhood and youth, has patronized every restaurant worth its salt in Mumbai😅 Another very unique thing about Gaylord is that its waiters give very personalized service without once being obtrusive. Warmth of this place is its USP. So it is at Pritam.

  You eat teasty food any way by knife and fork or by hand , it gives lot &nbsp;of pleasure and satisfaction to stomach and the soul . Kunal is fortunate that he is born with a menucard in his hands.

  Last week I re-watched the Basu Chatterjee&apos;s classic 1976 &quot; Chhoti si Baat&quot; and there is a beautiful sequence shot in this exact restaurant between Asrani and Amol Palekar.

  OMG, Kunal, you’re on fire, covering all old and legendary restaurants in Mumbai, Anant Aashram and now Gaylord. It’s nostalgia, keep going in this direction 🎉

  Omg what a surprise to know Gaylord still exists! As a 10 year old back then in the 70s we used to visit this place and have the famous club sandwiches on Saturdays and then head to see wrestling at the Worli Stadium. So nice it brings back memories of an era gone by!

  As a old time mumbaikar who now lives in Australia this brings back great memories. Just some fun facts Gaylord was also known as at the match making restaurant. Lots of couples met each other for the first time at this restaurant
