  My Black Orpington is my favorite chicken in the flock. So friendly. She rides on my shoulder like it’s no big deal. Will jump in my lap if presented. Really a swell bird!

  I picked up a half dozen buff chicks recently for some reason. I&apos;ve been so busy building a new coop and run that I&apos;ve had no time to spend with them and they got stuck in their coop for a couple of weeks while I finished their run. They were sure happy to finally get out at about 6 weeks old. Second day out one little girl hopped up in my lap and was more than happy for some petting. Oh lordy, since then everytime I go in the run and don&apos;t take a seat on a bucket she will climb up my chest or back to sit on my shoulder. Petting isn&apos;t good enough, she&apos;s under my arm or my chin for cuddles. lol<br>She&apos;s the only one so friendly. The others are friendly but not so much. I&apos;m not sure if she&apos;s just that sweet or if she&apos;s playing her cards to stay out of the dinner pot? lol<br>Anyhow....... she earned the name SweetPea. :)

  I have recently moved to a small holding that have free range sheep, ducks and chickens. One chicken is an orange Buff Orpington and i instantly fell in love with her. She has got the most awesome temperament and allows me to cuddle her. I often have treats with me to spoil her and the other chickens. I plan on getting a whole lot more ! ❤

  I love my buff Orpington girls. They are rescues, and I picked them up about 2 months back. They are fast little buggers! Just as you said. I have 3 and call them &quot;the golden girls&quot;. There&apos;s Winnie (because she will always win the chase if you&apos;re trying to catch her. She&apos;s my broody hen. Then there&apos;s Butterscotch who dropped all her dirty feathers in the middle of winter! I believe that&apos;s to do with getting proper nutrition now since they are coming back in incredibly fast. Then there&apos;s the boss, Ginger. They are great chickens and I couldn&apos;t be happier. They have a 10x10 run with a small coop. They only stay in there at night. Other than that they have about 2 acres of grass and woodland. They are so happy and healthy now. They do get into a bit of trouble sneaking off to the neighbors but they always come when I call (I&apos;m the treat dispenser) 😂 I do wish they would slow down on the egg laying. I can&apos;t eat or give them away fast enough. I also want their bodies to heal and rest. Any ideas on how to do that?
