The Nigerians you’ve interacted with are not patriotic and have not told you a balanced story. Also, Nigeria is not just Lagos, it depends on the city in Nigeria that you live in. They’re other cities that are way easier to live in. If you had/have the opportunity, visit places like Calabar or Ebonyi
