I agree with Jim that the USA’s economic goal is to run the economy hot and hope that growth outruns debt. Where I disagree is whether it can really be be achieved. I’ll point to two items:<br><br>1) the US spending is growing faster than ever. There has been essential no material reductions in any government programs while defense budget is to grow 50% for example. <br><br>2) To achieve a GDP growth rate of even 5% has never happened in the last 80 years in the USA, despite many revolutionary technologies like PCs, the internet, mobile, etc.
