  This is the most stunning transformation — from a man  reliant on crutches, unable to move freely, to a lion with a violin, capable of shaking the world with his talent and God-given power.

  How many artists I have heard play this piece very well -- more than a dozen, I'm sure.  But no-one in my experience wrings the very last drop of emotion from every single note with far, far more than just flawless technique like the immortal Perlman.  His is the rarest of gifts -- to be not just a master of the instrument;  rather, to be as one with it.  The rich sweet sustain he constantly  coaxes from the violin has an unmistakably honey-like viscosity to the ear.  POL gives a superb read of Brahms' uber-opus dedicated to Joachim in this performance under Maestro Foster's deft and deeply sensitive hand.  If this is not music, my friend, it is as close to it as humans are ever going to get.

  I remember a remark by Perlman...<br>&quot;It&apos;s easy for pianists to interpret music, as a violinist you are just desperately hoping to get to the end of the piece without sounding terrible&quot;.

  I love how Itzhak makes the violin sing! His tone and expression are gorgeous! He plays with his whole body, heart, and soul. My entire being feels every note he plays! He is beyond amazing!!

  45 minutes of playing like this is nothing short of heroic. What a talent. Absolutely love this concerto. Bravo, Brahms - and Perlman!

  The reason Itzhak Perlman always looks so happy in these videos: he loves violin music, and he gets to listen to (one of?) the world&apos;s best violinist(s) play it literally right next to his ear.

  The most outstanding Violinist God has ever created for our enjoyment, Praise and Glory be to Him and Hallelujah’s in abundance, God gave Mr. Perlman the talent of playing the Violin 🎻 that makes the soul cry in Joy and Sadness. Blessed be Mr. Perlman with the Lords Love and Grace.🥰
