Your videos are very uplifting. Thank you. I left Christianity 37 years ago and at times I feel deconstructing is still taking place. Im thankful for the journey Ive been on. I see a much bigger universe now. ❤

It was the obvious demonstrable lies like "Only through Jesus can you have a happy marriage" and "our god invented objective morality (ignore the slavery)" that convinced me before my teens that religions are all bunkum.

Deconstruction can feel like a long, painful, lonely, thankless journey that many of us aren't cut out for. Still, it’s so liberating going into my later years minus that heavy meaningless burden.

Fabulous insight into how you saw the light, so to speak. What concerns me the most is how religion survives in the minds of people unable to critically think. Religious belief relies on these people who don’t get the opportunities to learn the skill of critical thinking. Every person who escapes indoctrination like I assume you did, makes me a very happy person,,, there is hope

I was raised by my mom although we celebrated Christmas my mom never mentioned Jesus.
I remember when i was five years old that this god and that devil were as real as Santa claus and the tooth fairy.
I was a young teenager when I learned about evolution, it made sense to me . In my twenties I read the Bible and understood it was an archaic cobbled together collection of mythologicl tribal writings that contradicted each other .

I moved 2,000 miles away from my family to attend university. Too far for family or friends to visit for a weekend. **That allowed me the space to develop my own independent sense of self. No influence or pressure. No family deadlines or must attend church/events. It was the first time I had outside family and friend bubble.

I am coming at this from the other side. I was raised without religion virtually although technically my parents were "Christian" they never pushed it. It took my then girlfriend to get me to join a church. Eventually she left the church as she couldn't make sense of cancer. and I of course was already there. To me the big difference is that I reject the cynicism that Christianity demanded. I think I was raised as a strong humanist, through media mostly, and the notion that humanity was hopelessly flawed and inherently evil requiring "salvation" just never made sense to me.
