It’s a very minor part of the movie, but I always loved that Pedro’s cousins actually cared about him & were proud when he was elected president.

Lafawnduh being real, hopelessly out of his league, and genuinely enamoured with him really surprised me when I first saw this but I love it.

"Your mom goes to college " is still one of the sickest burns ever.

Fun fact: both John Heder, who plays Napoleon, and Ephraim Ramirez, who plays Pedro, each have an identical twin brother.

I think one of the most charming things about this movie is that, despite everyone being pretty much awkward or sad losers, every person gets a happy ending. Even Uncle Rico's "soul mate" just wanders into his life. It's hardcore quirky, but what makes it iconic is how genuinely sweet the film is underneath.

As someone born and raised in Idaho, I can confirm this is a documentary of life here

It's actually incredible that Kip and his girlfriend actually have a legitimately nice relationship. Like, what a boss.

I recently showed my teenager and she quotes it all the time at school and no one but, the teachers know what she is talking about, it's glorious.
