  Thanks for the reviews. My preference is for stainless steel because of the look and feel (not because of the imaginary food safety nonsense mentioned in another post), but I&apos;m pretty sure I&apos;m going to go for the Benriner.

  I wish people who claim are interested in health would boycott tools that contain plastic. <br>Wood, glass, stainless steel, high quality food grade silicone are the only materials that belong in the kitchen. Everything else is just marketing that claims to be food safe.

  It&apos;s WAAAAY harder to clean. That stainless steel one, garbage. It did okay as a mandolin BUT the cleaning issues and the gripper, no thank you. <br><br>With cleaning, I used pipe cleaners to clean it and no matters how long I soaked it, then scrubbed and pipe cleaned it, rinsed and then shook it or submerged it again and then shook it...<br><br>I&apos;d let it dry, store it and next time I pulled it out and used it, at some point a puece of whatever I cut last time (be it a dried up peel or fruit/veg wedge), would fall out or wind up stuck on what I was cutting this time. Yaaaa, so I&apos;d have to throw it all away. I tried a dozen times, a dozen different ways and you can NEVER gaurantee it&apos;s clean bc you cannot see or get to every area that can hold debris. &nbsp;<br><br>Trust me, bug NO to any of those that have attached blades you can only turn a knob to utilize bc in them hides food and bacteria. You are gonna wind up getting your family sick.
