It is so much easier to gain access with a micro kit. And placing the sheath makes transition to .035 guidewire so much easier in the event you’re having a difficult time stabilizing the needle.

Great information. Check with your vascular access team about the modified seldinger technique, in which you would not need to upsize your guide wire. You may be familiar with this process. It also decreases the need to skin knick, preventing increased occurrence of bleeding and infection. Thanks for the video.
