I found this neighborhood, Alamitos Peninsula, on Googlemaps and yep!, they built a home on the ocean. In 2022 images, there is a 12 or 15 foot sand barrier on the beach so that you can't even see the water from ground level. Now that barrier's gone. I'd say about 5,000 truckloads of rip rock, 15 tons each, oughta' do the job.

Why aren’t they putting rocks in front of that wall? Wouldn’t that slow the erosion better than sand? Polo isn’t the last threat. Have they seen the El Niño forecast? Have they seen the warm water? Have they seen the string of hurricanes forming? Number eighteen is in the wings. It will be Q something and September not over

The news (I call it S-News as in Snooze!) producers have only one hing in mind when doing most snooze stories....a couple of attractive reporters, maybe one man...find someone to interview....with a child is even better....and then ask the most banal question possible..(the reporters might be given scripts or a list of general questions). I note the Plywood set up to protect (!!?) the business....that plywood is not going to last long assuming the waves are considerable and since the ocean level has been rising for decades..and esp the last 30 years...but it all depends on the track of the hurricane and true to their incompetence...& then all the jocularity amongst reporters and interviewees ....what a fun happy picture later to be followed by massive destruction??? I know someone who did videos for the news in SoCal (lived with her a a couple other roommates) and she said that Video was the most imp. thing to stories...and they were often carefully crafted...I have also watched 'reporters' practice their intros over and over...to get them just right...everything is to capture a select audience for the advertisers!!!!!! That is why the snooze is so bland & predictable. And why I never watch it!!!!!

Some areas are not a good place to construct a home.<br>Near the beach does not have to be in the most likely danger zones of the ocean in order to still enjoy it and the beach. It is certainly concerning to have a violent storm be at your doorstep, but some things are preventable through choices of where you build or buy. That goes for other places, too, that are geologically not suited for people to live safely. Even to be destroyed in one lifetime, would be a horrific thing to go through.

I think that they should double up on the plywood and nail it down and I’d go buy some heavy duty bricks
