I know we’re all tough guys that have been “using Hoppe’s since I was a boy” but I recommend nitrile gloves when cleaning and handling solvents/oils/greases.

at 82 and owning 52 guns and always working on them myself and this being my first Glock 43x Caleb's video helped a lot.

In 30 years of glocking, I have never found it necessary to open mags and clean them…unless I am doing a class that requires me to drop my mags in the course of fire

The way Glock explained it to me is that copper colored factory grease acts as a lapping agent & helps the contact points wear together evenly

Caleb demonstrates a half release then "striking out" the trigger. My Glock armor class taught us to strike it out first, then you can slide the slide off in one motion. Either way works. Someone mentioned below that you don't have to strike out the weapon before removing the slide. Not recommended, you can damage the sear.

I also recommend holding the slide with the muzzle down when cleaning the breach face, this prevents debris from falling into the firing pin hole.

I use a molly lube paste grease on the connector, a little bit goes a long way and lasts a long time. You don't have to re-grease it every time you clean.

He does a great job of pointing out where to oil. Once again, a little oil goes a long way.

Love my Glock 47. Ended up with a complete spare slide for it that I’ll probably try to swap for a gen 5 19 slide. Great video

I keep two jars of Hoppe's, one for brushes and one for patches only. Change out the brush solvent frequently. Clean the bronze with Ronsonol.
