  My problem is- I'm socially awkward AND stupid.

  Intelligent people typically dont find the conversations of MOST social environments to be all that interesting and would rather not engage for that reason. The result is less sociability which can metastasize over a period of time. The pressures imposed by society to “keep things light” are in deep contrast to the comfort zone of someone who is an acute thinker.

  The 7 Hallmarks of the socially awkward intelligentsia: <br> <br>1. Pathological self-awareness; <br>2. Hightened sensitivity to both overt (loud noises, flashing lights) and covert stimuli (microexpressions, schadenfreude, second-hand embarassment/cringe); <br>3. Pedantic pursuit of moral righteousness, esp. at the expense of one&apos;s social capital; <br>4. Cycling between ego projection and self-preservation - the reflexive retreat to one&apos;s own mind as a coping mechanism. May compound feelings of isolation/lack of connection if left unchecked. <br>5. High to very high capacity for intuition, abstract thought. An uncanny ability to infer context (from years of compensating for missed social cues); <br>6. Learned pessimistic bias; <br>7. Analysis paralysis.

  Smart people have good social skills but only if they feel comforable ..no stupid or small talks .

  Success in life is directly related to social skills. You don’t have to be smart to be successful.

  You can have social skills and still be socially awkward. A case in point is people with social anxiety. Just because you have the social skills it doesn’t mean you can always use them effectively!

  You can be awkward but as a result from social anxiety. Doesn’t have to relate to intelligence.

  Social awkwardness is also a relative term. What seems socially awkward for one person, may not be for the other.

  Reality check: being socially awkward doesnt mean you are intelligent. But intelligent people can be socially awkward. People LOVE to see flaws as being a sign of something greater. But, no, in most cases being socially awkward is just a negative (not because you are the chosen one).
