I played AC: Origins for the first time during a dark part of my life.
The quest where Bayek stopped a woman from jumping off a cliff is still with me till this day.

One fun detail about the Apple of Eden in Origins: it’s the same one from AC 1 and Revelations, just a millennium earlier.

Last comment, a couple of character things I think you missed:

The biggest part of Aya’s growing distance from Bayek is that being around him constantly reminds her of the pain of losing Khemu. By throwing herself into her work, first with Cleopatra and then the Hidden Ones, she can both repress that trauma and try to achieve something worthwhile.

Bayek hesitates to finish off Flavius because Khemu has appeared to him during the post assassination conversations, and even though Bayek wants to set Khemu’s soul to rest he selfishly doesn’t want to say goodbye yet, thinking he will never see him again. Khemu reassures his father that they’ll reunite in the Field of Reeds and that’s how he’s finally able to let go.

Your historical context additions really made this one of the better retrospectives I've watched, and definitely the best centered around ACO. Good job 🫡 looking forward to more

About historical accuracy:

AC 1 gets into this. Essentially, in the Assassin’s Creed universe the history we know has been rewritten in places, by the Templars/Order/Abstergo, and the “real” history is what’s shown in the game.

So in universe our real world histories are just wrong and the game is showing what actually happened.

I'm a little late but I'm investing early. As my first impression to your channel this was a great video and a heavy hitter in terms of quality, how captivating a watch this was, seeing how well your take on the gravity of the darker parts in the story especially was a pleasant surprise keep up the good work.

I think the whole Aya importance makes more sense when we know that she was supposed to be the main character until ubisoft doubted the player would want to play a female character
As for Cleopatra, i remember while playing i was thinking she was into some kind of high scheme move, pretending to ally with Pompei for him and her brother to weaken each others before having her army defeat at least her brother to be the sole ruler of Egypt before Cesar arrival, thus presenting a powerful front to avoid a conquest.... well, i was wrong but it would have been cool ^^
Also, with Cesar and Cleopatra i think that the serie may have had a little lore restriction as Amunet was introduced in AC2 as ending Cleopatra and Brutus was revealead as an assassin in ACB, the very next game. So maybe it played a role ?

Personnally, i liked the seriousness of Origins after Syndicate went with goofy templars and not serious enough protagonist. This game gave me hope..... And in the beginning of the next game we take the fake eye of a guy to shove it into a goat.... Yeah.... Yeah....

What I like about origins is they don’t tie on the ancient alien stuff directly into the pyramids, even if it would be easy. I’m also a history buff and I’ve been called slurs by family members before for suggesting we mostly know how the pyramids were built at this point
