After scrolling the comments I noticed that almost all nationalities admired that masterpiece. This is what makes music a universal language.

A lot of people think that Shostakovich lived in 19 century. Guys, he was a Soviet composer and died in 1975.

The year is 1880 and it's your first time to go to a grand ball. You know what this ball is all about: party, fashion, socializing, and enjoyment. There you saw guests are in their best mode, the ladies look so elegant in their gorgeous outfits, and dangling in their ears are the shiniest diamonds you have ever seen. The gentlemen are way more handsome than usual because of their formal attire. You danced, and danced, and danced with the music. The drinks were served when you got thirsty. As the music covered the entire hall, you thought to yourself, this is what life is all about.

still blows my mind this beautiful piece sounds old enough to be part of classical music but it's actually less than 100 years old
