  My personal experience of memory loss.<br><br>Was in a fairly nasty car accident 1½ years ago. The next 8 months don&apos;t exist for me. I don&apos;t remember Thanksgiving, Christmas, my daughter&apos;s 16th birthday, my 40th birthday, etc.<br><br>I guess I could recall most of what happened during a day but once I fell asleep it all disappeared. There was no &quot;yesterday&quot; for me.<br><br>Once my brain healed a bit, I could only remember small pieces of what happened the day before but it was progress. I still struggle with my memory now, especially the long term memory stuff. It&apos;s like I can remember most things from the last few days or week but once it gets moved from the short term memory to the long term memory, it gets lost.<br><br>I guess what I&apos;m saying is, cherish your memories. If you lose everything else, those are what will keep you going. Do your best to make many wonderful memories. Share the experiences with those you love. <br><br>Take it from me, seeing yourself in pictures and videos from events you don&apos;t remember is a VERY strange experience. And it isn&apos;t a pleasant one. Nothing can make up for the memories you make.
