I can still distinctly remember going to that pool planet in Honeyhive Galaxy with the crystal blue water and the lily pads for the first time and just thinking "If I could go anywhere in the universe, it would be here"

I’m surprised Kingdom Hearts’ Destiny Islands weren’t mentioned in the memorable beaches segment as it’s what I think of when I hear “Early 2000’s Beach levels”. The island was vibrant, with rundown wooden structures and tall stone cliffs that I still remember vividly in my head.

What made Wuhu Island so immersive, was that it wasn’t just in Wii Sports Resort (truly one of my favorite games of all time) but also Wii Fit Plus and Pilot Wings Resort. The island felt like a staple of Nintendo games and I’m a bit sad, that they didn’t just stick with it. It was that perfect.
