  The late 90's to early/mid 2000's was such a crazy time for culture in general. Man, I miss those years.

  Man nothing beats the feeling of buying a new game at the store and you'd be reading the box and manual on the drive home in the anticipation of playing it when you got there. It's sad I might never feel that again.

  2007 was not only a great year for consoles, but PC as well. It was the year that CRYSIS was released.

  Consoles had just the right amount of power for devs to make the game they envisioned, but enough limitations that it still forced them to be creative.

  Everyone chases realism nowadays, whereas the limitations of older games required more art and grit to pick up the slack of lesser graphics

  Does anyone else remember Halo 3 double xp weekend on 7/7/7? I was 10, I had nothing going on the whole weekend besides gaming with the boys. I still think back and remember that weekend every year around July

  2007 was peak human existence. &nbsp;was also a great year for movies and the year the iphone launched. <br>The 2008 financial really did and still is wrecking us all.

  This kills me because we will NEVER experience this again, gaming has gone totally corporate, it isn&apos;t about making memorable experiences now, it&apos;s all about the bottom line and how much money the publisher can drain from your wallet, we&apos;ll never experience the overwhelming joy and comradery of a midnight release because everything is going digital, it feels bad man, I&apos;ll always cherish growing up in this golden era, RIP
