  I think what makes Shanks so unique is he rarely has to flaunt his strength. People are terrified of facing him on reputation alone. Cause he can clap just about everyone without even truly trying. When he showed up at Marineford nobody wanted the smoke. Even that magma dick Akainu was scared of him. His core crew are by themselves capable of ending a war with just their presence. And none of them has a single devil fruit. Just a crew of monsters with haki that make bigger crews piss themselves.

  Young shanks was never serving or loyal to the WG. That is a misrepresentation of his character. We already know that Shanks was on Roger’s ship and likely knew bits and pieces about the true history based on oden being on the crew and translating the poneglyphs. Roger even told Shanks they were too early so Shanks likely knew enough to go to the holyland and see if he can find information about where the nika fruit is and he was right because who who, a wg employee found it eventually and shanks went to grab it. So until we learn otherwise, Shanks continued posing as a holy knight until he stole the nika fruit. He wasnt compelled to do the right thing. He was always against them

  Mihawk being stronger than Shanks has never made sense to me. Being the strongest swordsman doesn’t mean he’s stronger than everyone with a sword. It means he’s the best in that style of fighting
