I'll always love turn based because you can play while you eat a sandwich or a hot dog

Turn based is harder if you are larping and are standing on a pile of legos.

You did another video on this subject 3 years ago while wearing the same shirt. Just wonderful, Tim.

Taste preference, but personally i like the more elaborate turn based that kind of fills up the need for turn based to make it bearable like in battletech. Initiative for move comes first, after everyone has moved (best initiative unit moves last) comes the combat turn where targets and actions are set and they go off one by one (neat and quick in pc game, not so in tabletop). Player has things to do all the time in a filled up turn based mode. A good team gets to observe enemy movement and react to it while a beginner team has to play more defensively. There's very little waiting involved.

I've always liked both types of gameplay but as I get older, I find myself gravitating even more toward turn based combat. Reflexes fade!

The crazy thing about the "fireball problem" you described with RTwP is that NO ONE has ever thought of using the "hold the charge" mechanic as Pathfinder calls it, wherein you still spend the full time casting the spell but instead of the game going "No no no, you clicked this spot 6 seconds ago! There is no way someone could react in 6 seconds and adjust their aim!" you instead have the spell "readied" so that you can click again and shoot it wherever you want instantly. Or just make it so that spells don't have a cast time, they instead have a recovery time so you spend 6 seconds recovering after you cast fireball instead.

"Dock or blodge" is a phrase I have never heard before.

You are forgetting the convenience and accessibility of turn based games for fathers of infant babies. I tried some online pvp gaming after my son was born and learned real quick that it wasn't gonna fly and now I almost exclusively play games where I can step away form the pc immediately

I used to see Real Time with Pause as just a real-time game that feels turn-based, but I no longer do so. At this point I see it as a different form of gameplay, because it just feels different to play from the other two, even if it can be simplified to one (or both) of them. You need to have GUI elements that make RTwP possible, and that's what makes it distinct.
