I love hearing about how different cultures and religions experience being gay. I’m not Arabic or SWANA (which is a new acronym I’ve been exposed to because of this) so hearing about it is intriguing and enlightening even.

"You've got the wrong shoes, you're wearing last year's cool clothes, you haven't traveled anywhere cool": I wish the media would stop selling the lie to gay teenagers to "just come out, and you'll feel welcome by the gay community." Nope. You'll be judged, ranked, assessed, just like the str8 people do. It is pretty frustrating. Drew is right that it takes work on yourself to stop judging people all the time, or you do it by default.
