  Being able to film that nymph leaving the water and seeing it undergo metamorphosis is something only very skilled wild life videographers can pull off. You are really talented and determined!

  As a Japanese who grew up in 70&apos;s, I know how the current rice paddy is different from the one I played in. But I didn&apos;t know how it affects the ecosystem. Also I couldn&apos;t see inside the rice paddy while I was playing! Thank you for the amazing project, filming, and editing! (I hope I didn&apos;t step on the little lives while I was playing decades ago)

  Rice fish are lovely! I&apos;ve got them too. When I remove eggs or tiny ones from the main tank, I put them in a tub with plants, molm and green water. They&apos;ll be able to feed off micro organisms and algae till they&apos;re able to eat micro food or BBS.

  I&apos;ve worked in research labs that also grew rice (I didn&apos;t do it much myself but I helped those who did now and then). The light requirements are no joke. Seedlings and young plants were done inside with LED lights with the red and blue channels cranked WAY up. As mature plants in the greenhouse we had to supplement them with big overhead lamps in the fall, spring, and winter. This was mostly because we were trying to maintain year-round summer-like active growth conditions and actually produce grain. They don&apos;t die without that much light, but they go kinda dormant and slow growing, IIRC. They&apos;ll also grow taller and bushier than one might expect, don&apos;t be surprised if you have to get more space between the aquarium and light at some point.

  If your outdoor pond doesn&apos;t freeze into a solid block during the winter you should be able to keep medaka in them as well. Medaka really should be more popular as it&apos;s one of the few highly decorative fish that can handle freezing temperatures outside of goldfish and koi. Due to their resilience and small size I hope you include them in more builds, even if just as another background character.
