  My cabin is a 5 day walk from the nearest road, was 3 days 50+ years ago when I built it. Found the clearing and lake when I was hunting. When I went hunting when I was in my teens and Till my late 30s I could be gone for weeks so normal for me. Saved a wolf and her pups, she was in a trap, after feeding them for a few days she started to trust me and I was able to free her. She and her pups followed me the the site I was building my cabin at so I continued to clean her wounds daily. She healed up and stayed, sleeping beside me with her pups. Now there are 14 of them, I don't know how they know when I'm coming but they meet me  2 to 3 days before I arrive at the cabin. For the rest of the walk in I know I'm safe at night because I have 5 or 6 wolves sleeping around me. Dogs and Wolves remember kindness, I love them and they Love me.The current alpha female is the Great Great grand daughter of the wolf I saved many years ago.    There may be another great in there my memory is not as good as it was

  Dogs are fantastic animals. When I was young we moved from one country in Africa to another. Our German shepherd got lost when he jumped out of the car chasing something at our petrol stop. It was devastating for us when we had to leave after looking and waiting for hours. The roads were dangerous, at night so we left.  About 2 years later the family that occupied our old house 10 hrs away in a neighboring country called us that a dog had been wandering around the house barking and whining but won't come in. They thought it might belong to us. My father drove back there and found it was our lost dog, Tiger. It is still a mystery to this day how he got lost and walked back to the old house 10 hours away, in another country.

  I grew up with dogs and when I was married, our first apartment didn't allow dogs. I had to hand over my dog to my parents (who loved and spoiled him rotten), and I just found it intolerable to live without him. I credit my dog for pushing us to purchase  our first home. The first thing we did(before replacing the carpet), was get my dog and fence in our backyard. Then, all was right in my world. It also made my parents realize that they needed a dog , and wasted no time adopting a little mixed schnauzer/poodle. My dog at that time was a pure bread schnauzer. Since then, we've had a variety of breeds and each one was beloved. If you've never had a dog in your life, you can't know what you're missing. They enrich your life in so many ways, it's difficult to articulate. My only complaint is that they just don't live long enough 😢.

  Having lost my 12 year old Rottweiler earlier this year, I don't understand how people can mistreat such loyal companions.

  I breaks my heart to see dogs on the street. One of the greatest gifts to mankind is the love and loyalty of a dog.

  When the smaller dog at the construction site was faking an injury trying to get food 😂😂 that was my favorite part.

  Dogs have an incredible understanding of social etiquette and procedures. The farmer opens the barn door to make a den for the birthing mother, the father charges in first to check for threats, the mother close behind.  The "helper" dog voluntarily stops at the open door, waiting for an invitation to come in.  Just incredible.

  The Shepherd is a real man, excellent example of how humans can live in harmony with animals and nature.  He spends his life working to maintain his home, his farm and provide for the community sustainably. Although seemingly primitive, it's actually as close as you can get to how people have lived since the beginning of our Creation.

  I am not one who has patience for animal documentaries  -- so often sugar coated and infantile.  This production is different. I was transfixed from beginning to end. It was also fascinating to see the differences in treatment in the various locales.  Looking forward to more from this producer/director!

  My dear pet dog(who I referred to as my brother) Erik Matović died two days ago, on Sunday the 25th of June 2023 and I feel as if a part of me died too. <br>I remember it was the 19th of December 2012 when my dad and I went to pick him up as my birthday present. He was a small, two and half months old puppy and vomited a little on our way back which was the first time I felt concerned for my little brother&apos;s health. <br>I&apos;m sorry for not having enough strength to endure a possibly sad documentary about dogs.
